The heavens/are open to me now/My joy Your joy/how I don’t deserve!
‘Feed me Lord, I’m hungry’
‘Quench me Lord, I thirst’
The church was still, quiet. I sometimes wondered, even in my absolute stillness, if there was something dead. The pace was quick, the chanting rushed and imbalanced, and the spirit quite dry. In all that, there wasn’t something quite right.
But in me, I could only hear one thing: Lord, I’m hungry. Feed me.
And that’s the only thing that fueled me through the entire Eucharist, even carrying me to the church.
Epouro pe paouro!
